Today, we embark on a journey of profound transformation as we explore the captivating concept of the 'Renewal of the Mind '. This theme holds the key to unlocking our deep-rooted connection with God, our Father. Our exploration begins at Ephesians 4:28. Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. The transformative power of renewing the mind in Christ is staggering.

Today, we will answer the question Who are you by focusing on the “who,” as answered in 1 Peter 2:9-10 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.10 “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy. But” begins verse 9 to show there is a distinction.

We embarked on this journey by affirming that God answers the question "who are you?" through His Word! Last week, we concluded with this scripture and will collectively analyze it to answer that question. Who are you? 1 Peter 2:9-12 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
10 “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”11 Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. 12 Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.
But you're not like that. It begs the question, like what?

The Word of God answers the question, "Who am I?" I recently heard someone discussing the crime for which Jesus was killed. He was charged and sentenced for referring to God as "Father." He declared openly that God was his Father. Since we are exploring identity, I thought it would be great to reflect on this. Identity, behavior, and character are interconnected.
